	Ladies and gentlemen, Russia has scored certain achievements in economic development and corporate restructuring, which is reflected in the growing interest of foreign investors. In this situation, the development of mutually beneficial, confident relations between investors and issuers is becoming a key task and a crucial factor of competitiveness of the Russian economy. The advantages of the Internet in the development of communication in the sphere of investment are difficult to overestimate. Since its establishment in April 2003, one of the priorities of the FC Novosti information agency, registered as an electronic medium, has been to inform the general Russian and foreign public about the investment climate in Russia. The Agency has close working ties with the Audit Chamber and other control agencies of Russia and is spotlighting the investment transparency of the Russian economy. State financial control, the rules of conduct for players on the stock and financial markets, legislative initiatives bearing on investments, basic macroeconomic indices of the Russian economy and their analysis, news about major Russian issuers, the struggle against economic crimes and illegal business - this is a far from incomplete list of subjects which we daily cover on our site in real time. We do not claim to be able to cover the entire information concerned with investments, as the Agency's format of an electronic medium has its limitations. Our task is to inform investors about changes in the Russian state policy and rapidly developing economy that influence the moulding of the investment climate. 	FC Novosti news agency was set up in October 2002 under the patronage of the Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation. The main task of the Agency is to provide the information concerning the activity of the state financial control organizations both in Russia and abroad with the aim to highlight the picture of Russian economy from the viewpoint of its transparency for investment. Among those who receive the Agency news are power bodies of the Russian Federation, state and commercial structures, mass media etc. Foreign users include the British Library, major US universities (Harvard, Stanford, Princeton, Yale, University of Columbia, University of North Carolina), foreign embassies, commercial and banking structures, mass media, rating agencies, and consulting structures. The Agency realizes the interchange of information with the Russian-British Chamber of Commerce, the Association of European Businesses, large foreign audit companies and Russian news agencies.
